Donald Glenn "Don" Garlits (born January 14, 1932, Tampa, Florida) is an American drag racing driver and automotive engineer and is considered the father of drag racing. He is known as "Big Daddy" to drag racing fans around the world. Always a pioneer in the field of drag racing, he perfected the rear-engine "top fuel dragster design", an innovation motivated by the loss of part of his foot in a dragster accident. This design was notably safer, since it put most of the fuel processing and rotating parts of the dragster behind the driver. The driver was placed in "clear air," in front of nearly all the mechanical components, thus protecting the driver and allowing him to activate a variety of safety equipment in the event of catastrophic mechanical failure or a fire. Garlits was also an early promoter of the full-body, fire-resistant driver's suit - complete with socks and gloves, often branded as Nomex.
Garlits was the first drag racer to officially surpass the 170, 180, 200, 240, 250, and 270 miles per hour marks in the quarter mile; he was also the first to top 200 in the 1/8 mile. He has been inducted into several Halls of Fame and has won many awards during his career.

Bob Lambeck has been racing Stock and Super Stock cars for a number of years. During his affiliation with Dick Landy, Bob got his first ride in what is now considered a Pro Stocker. Wanting to be independent, Bob left the Landy stables to prepare a '68 Dart for the Pro Stock wars.
.Chrysler spearheaded a new HEMI race-car project based on the recently redesigned A-body Dart and the result is perhaps the most legendary race-bred muscle car ever built.
Bob Lambeck was a multi-time divisional champion in Super Stock and Pro Stock, a two-time national event winner, and a two-time world championship car owner.

" In 2007, this car was unveiled at SEMA, and drew a crowd every time the key went to the run position. "It's just something about the X-pipe Boom Tube exhaust and the individual throttle bodies that give it a wild sound," Ben Grasso says. "This car started with a dream that the ugly duckling of Mopars could become something spectacular," "I wanted to build a car like Dodge would have if the consideration of mass production and government interjection didn't exist, and I think I've achieved that," Ben says proudly.
Most people start a shop with the intention of building supercars like this one. Ben had it a little backward, or forward, depending on how you look at it. The car had been bounced around friends' houses for storage for over seven years when Ben decided to tackle this build. Originally wearing purple paint, this Coronet inspired the name and theme of his new business, Plum Floored Creations. He specializes in Mopar muscle rejuvenated with modern powerplants, suspensions, and electronics.
Beyond all the bells and whistles installed throughout the engine bay, interior, and undercarriage, the most impressive modifications lie beneath the paint. Ben started off with a stock-bodied car, that needed a little help. The guys from Year One came to the rescue with fresh quarter-panels, a rear window filler, and trunk floor. This sheetmetal freshening gave Ben a clear vision of the car's potential. Coupled with Plum Floored Creations, Paintshop101 gave the Super Bee a whole new flair with a relocated and heightened hood scoop, Coronet R/T-inspired side scoops, and most striking, the modified front fascia.

Grumpy Jenkins is widely known for his superior engine building skills, being a top-notch drag racer and a multi-motorsports hall of fame inductee. In 1966, Jenkins’ decided to independently run a Chevrolet of his own, and developed an engine package that made him a stand out in racing circles. Without the help of factory support, Jenkins developed his first Grumpy’s Toy: a Chevy II with a 327 cubic-inch engine. His efforts caught the eye of Chevrolet corporate, and this led to him being added to Chevrolet’s “sponsored” team in 1967.
Jenkins won only 13 NHRA national events as a driver, but was still voted the eighth best of all-time when the NHRA held its 50th anniversary in 2001, such is his importance as an engine and car builder. Inducted into every hall of fame and bestowed with every honor possible for a drag racer, Grumpy continues to see his influence on the stock classes today and his Jenkins Competition, the tuning shop he opened in the 1950s, remains in business.
Don't miss out on this perfect tribute to grumpy and the perfect truck to display your grumpy model on.

In the winter of 1970, a Mr. Wayne Hagen caught wind of some rattling news: the Judge was retiring. In this case, no political figure was stepping down but rather Pontiac’s sportster of the same name. “He wanted one his whole life but couldn’t swing it financially,’ recalls his wife, Mary. “Realizing this would be his last chance to get one, he figured he should get moving.”
.
In April of 1971, the lovebirds swung by Hansord Pontiac, in Minneapolis, only to be greeted with a terrible announcement: they were too late. “The sales staff said sadly we had missed the boat in getting in an order,’ recalls Mary. Officially, the Judge was discontinued in February and here it was nearly a month later. “We told them we weren’t interested anymore and started to leave,’ said Mary. “Before we could get to the door, they said they would call up Pontiac and ask if they’ll make one more.”
.
Further pressing their luck, the Hagens had a special request: the car needed to be painted in their favorite color, Orbit Orange. “We had to have one in that color, we just loved it,’ gushed Mary. Easier said than done, that vibrant hue was no longer available for the 1971 model year. Still, eager for a sale, the dealership put in a special paint request to make it happen.

The 1971 Plymouth HEMI Cuda Convertible was one of the last of its kind, built as the muscle car era neared its end. It is one of 12 built for the 1971 model year and among the five examples earmarked for non-U.S. destinations. Designed by John E. Herlitz and built on the new E-body platform, the 1971 Plymouth HEMI 'Cuda featured a wider body and a lower stance than its second-generation predecessor.
Among the many reasons why this HEMI is exceptional is the factory A833 four-speed manual transmission paired with a Hurst Pistol Grip shifter and, under the hood, a savage HEMI engine. Only three came equipped with this option. The Winchester Gray 'Cuda features a black Shaker scoop, a V3X option code black top, black billboard graphics, and Rallye wheels wrapped in F60-15 Goodyear Polyglas GT tires.
