| This is the 1970 Hemi Superbird of Jack Werst,
one of the famous Mr 5 & 50 drag cars. The Pearl White paint with Blue Lace paint on
ther sides, and Blue metallic center stripe on hood & deck lid. Made by RC2/Ertl as a
Limited Edition for Supercar Collectibles, it has the 426 Hemi with a 2 four air cleaner
base, Rat Roaster intake, plug wires, headers, a bucket seat interior, tach on the column,
plus some new mold correct deep dish Keystone Klassic mags on the rear (with the K on the
center caps). It also has slicks, the raised rear suspension, plus the Road Runner logo is
on both sides of the rear wing. |

| Bobby
Unser is one of the greatest race car drivers in American history. Beginning with his
winning the Indianapolis 500 on 3 separate occasions (1968, 1975, 1981) and being the
first driver ever to go over the 190 mile per hour mark at Indianapolis, Unser's racing
career can only be described as stellar. In his 2nd year driving for Ray Nichels, Bobby was seated in the #5 Nichels Engineering 1970 Plymouth Superbird. With his stock car schedule limited due to his Indycar racing commitments, Unser's superb racing skills were evident as he qualified the Nichels Engineering #5 Plymouth Superbird never lower than 3rd spot on the grid, earning 4 poles in just 8 races. Unser piloted Nichels Engineering stock cars for three seasons, from 1971-1973, winning races and always running with the leaders while competing in USAC sanctioned events against some of the greatest race car drivers in America. |
