Jenkins 1966 Nova A/Stock in Red & White (and is
different than the 2003 issue). This car was ran in most of the 1966 NHRA racing
season, sporting a Red & White paint scheme. Only 804
of this 1:18 scale replica will be made and it's an updated and more correct version,
after it had the NHRA National Record Holder lettering on the doors. It
also has some different sponsor decals, more acurate hood lettering, silver wheels, and is
more of a true Red color. The earlier 1:18 car made many years ago (by MIC)
had a bit of a pink tint to it. This car will be more of a true red plus have the updates
and differences mentioned. These have a lettered opening hood to the 327/350hp motor, detailed with 4 tube headers, spark plug wires, and paint detailed altenator, battery caps, carburator, and radiator cap. It has opening doors to a red interior with a bench seat, carpeting, 4 speed, and a tach up on the dash. It also has an opening trunk, the chassis is black, with a silver fuel tank, gray driveshaft, a pair of black traction bars, leaf springs, and Firestone slicks. This Red & White 1966 Nova was the 1st Jenkins car to have the "Grumpy's Toy" lettering on it. This car was wrecked in an "over the road" accident, when being transported back from a race. It was pretty beat up, but the driveline was salvaged, and it was quickly installed in a replacement 1966 Nova (all white). |

1966 Nova in White. The Red car was totaled on the return trip from an event, so
a plain White car was quickly purchased, received the drivetrain, and finished the 1966
season running in A/Stock. This White car was the 1st car in a long line of
"White" Grumpy's Toy cars, a trend that lasted several years. Photo is of
the real car as later ran in SS/C in the 1967 season, and is the 1:18 car we
are replicating. These will have an opening hood to the 327/350hp motor, detailed with 4 tube headers, spark plug wires, and paint detailed altenator, battery caps, carburator, and radiator cap. It has opening doors to a red interior with a bench seat, carpeting, 4 speed, and a tach up on the dash. It also has an opening trunk, the chassis is black, with a silver fuel tank, gray driveshaft, a pair of black traction bars, leaf springs, and Firestone slicks. This 1966 Nova replaced the wrecked Red & White car, and was the 1st Jenkins car in White to have the "Grumpy's Toy"on it, in a long line of White cars he raced. It also comes in "Supercar Raceway" drag theme packaging. |

Jenkins 1972 Vega Pro Stock as ran in the 1973 NHRA racing season. This car was
the 1st Red car since his 1966 Nova, breaking a long line of "White"
Grumpy's Toy cars. These will have a lift off hood to the small block motor detailed with headers, spark plug wires, and 2 dominators on a tunnel ram intake. It has opening doors to the interior with race seats, roll bar, and tach on the dash. It also has an opening liftgate to see the tubs, the chassis is black, with a silver fuel tank, gray driveshaft, a pair of black traction bars on the leaf springs, and Firestone slicks. This was the 1st Jenkins car in Red with "Grumpy's Toy" on it - since the 1966 Nova in Red.It also comes in "Supercar Raceway" drag theme packaging. |

| Drag racer "Rusty
Gillis" bought it from Hubert Platt in 1970, but it should have ended
up being crushed. Why you ask? It was an unusual car, as the body started life as
Boss 302, but was assigned a Q engine code (428 CJ). Most Ford
enthusists know Boss 302's didn't have the quarter panel scoops (like this
car doesn't have) and the Cobra Jet cars did have them. It seems Platt must
have received a Q code experimental car (as he had the contacts)! It was painted Pearl White with Candy Red & Blue accents, and won best appearing car that year in Miami. He later set a MPH record at 121.39 at the NHRA World Finals. At that event officials didn't like the car's lack of side scoops when running it as a Cobra Jet car, so he was told not to show up anymore unless it had the scoops. So he was forced to quickly install the quarter scoops before he could race again. This is why you will see photo's of this car without, and with, quarter scoops. | This is a 1969 Cobra Jet
Mustang Super Stock drag car driven by Ed Terry, the captain of the "Ford
Drag Team" west of the Mississippi river. This car is White
with a Blue stripe, and race day gold lettering. These have correct style hinges for the opening hood, open doors, and opening trunk. The 428 CJ motor is fully wired and plumbed, plus 4 tube headers. The interior is carpeted, has real cloth seat belts, with the chassis also detailed with working suspension, rotating driveshaft, and Torque Thrust mag wheels with slicks on the rear. |

| Some History on
this Famous Movie Car: After the Monkee's TV show ended, the 2 custom made cars were offered back to Dean Jeffries for $1,000 each, but he declined to purchase them because he felt he could build new ones cheaper. The "TV car" (aka car # 1) followed the Monkees on tour only to be left in Australia in 1968. It later resurfaced in Puerto Rico as a hotel courtesy car, and to this day there is still no hard information on how the car made its way to Puerto Rico. It was then sold at government auction in 1992 for $5,000 when the hotel went out of business. Though basically it was as built, the car did get some restoration work done when bought, and it was used as the example for making the original Ertl 1:18 version many years ago. It is now in the hands of a private collector in New York. The actual "show car" (aka car #2) was purchased by custom car designer George Barris, and this car would be the most visible during the years. It would go through many cosmetic changes, and Barris later went on to display the car at events. In 2006 the car would go through a major restoration, and it would become a beautiful 100 point show car, with many changes made - most noticable is the White Top and White Interior. In January 2008, Barris sold it through a Barrett-Jackson Auction, and it sold for $360,000. It now resides in the hands of a private collector in Michigan.
