Just over 22,000 Deluxe Coupes were built by Ford for the 1932 model year. That makes them one of the rarest 1932 Fords ever produced. By the early 1950s, literally hundreds of these coupes were turned into hot rods and lakes racers, which is what prompted TRJ (The Rodders Journal)  to do there first diecast not only as a 1932 coupe but to emulate a street and racing dynamic. The mildly chopped highboy gets its hot rod stance from an aggressive big and little bias-ply tire combination along with the drilled and dropped axle and hairpin radius rods. Also visible from this angle are the Buick finned aluminum drum brakes and subtly V'd spreader bar. What's not to love about the silhouette of a chopped Deuce coupe.

One of the initial steps of the design process was a collaboration with well-known artist, Thom Taylor. After they gave him the concept of a street/lakes motif, they asked him to incorporate there 15th Anniversary into patina'd lettering and paint scheme along with the red oxide primer base. This is the first shot showing the trunk detail which is based loosely on the TRJ shield logo.

Lots of detail underneath as well as a serialized chassis.

The minimalistic interior includes a drilled, four-spoke Bell steering wheel, '39 Ford shifter, chrome pedals and tuck-n-roll door panels. Hard to see here is the machined detail on the six-gauge dash panel, which looks great up close.

Other interior accoutrements that add to the lakes style include the World War II-style aluminum bomber seats.
The GMP 3-window suicide doors open all the way for a full interior view.

This detail shot of the flathead engine showcases an Edelbrock 2x2-intake manifold topped with two Stromberg 97 carbs, Edelbrock finned aluminum heads, and Belond style headers.
Note the intricate detail of the Edelbrock script logo on the heads.
